Why whale meat is popular in JapanApr 15, 2012
Consuming whale meat is seen by many as barbaric and unnecessary. But the Japanese say eating the meat is part of their culture. Commercial whaling has been banned since the mid 1980s, but Japan justifies its annual hunt in the name of science. So how is whaling viewed by the Japanese? Roland Buerk reports.
Whalemeat Tastes Pretty Good With KetchupMay 04, 2012
Picked up a whale steak today. Hadn't had it for a while. It tasted better than the last time. Last time, I fried it up with some onion, and mushrooms, threw some cheese on top and made a kind of steak and cheese sandwich. Not bad, but today was better and easier. Next time I might I might make a vegetable stew with some whalemeat. Or maybe a whale-Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato sandwich. Anyone who is offended by this can be assured that I do not care what you think. You are welcome to your opinions and beliefs. I don't know what they are and, again, I don't care. You will not impose your dietary beliefs upon me. If you don't like the video. You don't have to watch it.

Grilling whale meat illegally at a Tokyo restaurantMay 05, 2012
We finally found a grill restaurant at Repongi area of Tokyo, pulled out our iced, packaged whale meat with the cover of whole bunch of kobe beef, to have a showdown between whale and kobe. My hope is to find out why Japanese people want to eat whale meat, and if it's really that good.

FRONTLINE_World . The Faroe Islands - Message from the Sea . Video - PBS.movMay 16, 2012
A few hundred miles southeast of Iceland, 50000 descendants of Vikings live on a string of craggy islands called the Faroes. For more than 1000 years, the people here have hunted pilot whales, and whale meat continues to be an important part of their diet. But when pictures of whale hunts first appeared in the media during the 1980s, many from the outside world were shocked and animal rights activists mounted an anti-whaling campaign. The protests eventually abated, partly because the Faroese are not involved in commercial whaling. Yet, the islanders now face a new threat to their way of life: A landmark 20-year study of Faroese children has found that high levels of methyl mercury and other contaminants in the whale meat are harmful to a child's neurological development. FRONTLINE/World reporter Serene Fang explores how the study's findings have rubbed against deeply held traditions in this beautiful and remote part of the world. more info a PBS: www.pbs.org
